August 16, 2017
Best Lawyers has named Foley Hoag partners Barbara Fiacco, Seth Jaffe and Adam Kahn as 2018 “Lawyers of the Year.” The distinction is presented annually to one stand-out lawyer in each practice area and designated metropolitan area. Selections are based on voting averages received during exhaustive peer-review assessments conducted by Best Lawyers with thousands of lawyers throughout the year.
Fiacco, Boston’s Biotechnology Law “Lawyer of the Year,” focuses her technology-related practice on the biomedical field. She was recently included in Managing Intellectual Property magazine's 2017 edition of its IP Stars list of the Top 250 Women in IP, an accolade she has received since 2013. Fiacco currently serves as Second Vice President of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
Jaffe, Boston’s Environmental Law “Lawyer of the Year,” is a coordinator of Foley Hoag’s Environmental Practice Group. He is a leading practitioner in environmental compliance and related litigation. Jaffe was previously honored by Best Lawyers as Boston's Environmental Law "Lawyer of the Year" in 2010 and 2015, and Boston’s Environmental Litigation “Lawyer of the Year” in 2013 and 2016.
Kahn, Boston’s Environmental Litigation “Lawyer of the Year,” has a broad environmental practice and is a lead member of the firm’s Energy & Cleantech Practice Group. He has expertise in matters involving renewable and conventional energy, project permitting, land use/development, environmental compliance and Brownfields redevelopment. Best Lawyers previously honored Kahn as Boston's Environmental Litigation “Lawyer of the Year” in 2015.
Receiving "Lawyer of the Year" recognition by Best Lawyers reflects the high level of respect a lawyer has earned among other leading lawyers in the same communities and practice areas for their abilities, professionalism and integrity.
